Arcos Comfort Footwear — For thirteen years, my family owned a small shoe store in San Francisco’s Excelsior neighborhood. That phase was remarkable for many, many reasons. One, in particular, was the opportunity to develop some early gestations of how design & illustration interacted, as this period coincided with my college years and the first few years of my career. I made many mistakes and produced many ugly little things, but below are some of the pieces I still feel work pretty well. Simple postcards for offers and promotions, riffing on silhouettes of the shoes as a common thread.
