States of Mind — The height of the COVID-19 pandemic, during the lockdown, was a time of many complex emotions. These faces—some animals, some humanoids, some alter egos, some spirit animals—were drawn in quick bursts. No forethought, just a pen or a marker on a piece of paper as a start, and a reaction from there. In many cases, I asked my girlfriend to draw the first line and I would react accordingly; no erasures allowed. These became a way to respond to the complexity of the emotional burdens of the time.
